 In Rome, Luna dates back to at least 182 BCE, the year the Temple of Luna first appears in Roman literature. Servius Tullius is credited with having built the Temple of Luna, which once sat on the Aventine Hill, the southernmost hill of the seven hills of Rome. Further back in time, Titus Tatius is credited with bringing the cult of Luna to Rome.
